Swimming and you.

Hi.. new here? To get regular updates/news from this site why don't you subscribe to my RSS feed or sign up for email updates. Thanks for visiting!

just got a mail forward to give my views on swimming by the great dark lord admin.

Swimming is an awesome workout. involves a lot of muscular tension, forceful movements making you lean and strong really quick.

The drawbacks however include its lack of variety and range, swimming I guess helps lengthen the limbs, makes your body more supple, more stronger but the movements are the same and your body can get used to it within 3-4 months.

Obviously, there is an elite level in swimming, for which you need to train outside the pool in methods like weight training, intense cardio, balance training and functional training to make sure you get better INSIDE the pool.

Nutrition for swimming depends whether you have a workout outside swimming or not, I would recommend a low fat diet with plenty of vitamins, fibre and protein (note: low fat not no fat and not only protein)

If you plan to get slimmer through swimming, try out different swimming movements, take rests, drink a lil water every now and then, eat well, will work wonders.

P.S I was a national level swimmer

Ruby

Many people in their pursuit of going thin after looking at the magazines just stop eating and drinking well.

But those models in the magazines… I have met them without their makeups, without them getting ready for their shoots which have all lights and all on.

As a model myself, Let me tell you this: the models you people drool at look like they havent eaten for a few years at a stretch and lose a lot of facial charm. I for one wont date a model.

I recall meeting Vinesh one fine day and he looked like… poor and exhausted (sorry but its true) and I liked the way he looked way before, though a bit chubbier he looked healthy and hale.

So if you are thinking you will resemble those models as you see them, won’t happen… the world doesn’t have lights pointing to particular directions and effect based cameras in everyone’s eyes.

Doing things the PAVEL WAY!

Pavel Tsatsouline

is a functional training god.

Many people I know workout for like 2-3 hours like weirdos and still can’t lift half as much as this man can. Really, do buy his books if you can.

there are of course other ways to get the idea of nice techniques to get functional strength.

Pavel focuses on high strength gains and getting a damn powerful body.

The workouts are of maximum weight, slowly done and with frequent rest.

I tried this out and got a hell of a strength gain.

Great luck!
