Nike Ankle Weights Review

Ankle weights are a lifesaver to add fun to the workouts. 

I especially recommend ankle weights to people at beginner levels or obese people to add a little difficulty in their workouts.

So how do ankle weights help? 

Ankle weights tone up the body in a way different than working out normally, the reason being the range of motion is entirely different in ankle weights than it is in squatting or lunging.

For obese people, it is somewhat difficult to get complicated cardio or bodyweight movements underway in good speed. By complicated cardio I mean kickboxing, burpees, HIIT and swimming. 

However, to boost results for say 2 months or so, what obese people can do is buy a pair of 5lbs ankle weights and add them to their workout of comparatively simpler movements. What ankle weights do it stress the muscles effectively whether you are just swing kicking or cycling or moving your arms around.

This type of stress reinforces lean muscles which is extremely helpful to burn fat, muscle burns fat while you sleep, while you move the entire day. 

So Why Nike?

I tried on different ankle weights, while some nearly dislocated the heel from the shin, the other scratched the ankles till they bled. 

Nike Ankle weights comparatively offered much more comfort and stabilized much more easily without drooping downwards.

The only disadvantage was 5lbs being the max can get used to in say 2 months. 

However these ankle weights provide as much as 30% better results in the span of 2 months which leads to an awesome start for the obese people in their journey to get lean.

Even martial artists can use the ankle weights while kicking for some improvement on speed.

How did Angelina carve that awesome figure for the movie Tomb Raider?

Easy! She lost fat and gained lean muscle mass.

Of all the celebrity routines I have reviewed, I find hers the best (probably with me being a kung fu student).

Angelina Jolie started practicing kickboxing and weapons training months before the filming of the Tomb Raider movie.

How does kickboxing help burning fat?

People often overlook the vitality the intensity of their cardio can bring forth in their efforts to burn fat.

Kicking on the heavy bag repeatedly needs particularly: Breathing endurance, optimization of hips, thighs, calves at a high speed with constant repetitions.

An hour of kickboxing workout can burn as much as 600-800 calories.

And that is not just it, when you apply impact on the bag or even if you practice with the ankle weights, your muscles follow an entirely different range of motion than running or cycling, this range of motion doesn’t only burn calories but also does a fair bit of muscle conditioning resulting into the subtle sexy tone on Angelina’s body.

Can you do it?

Well, kickboxing is difficult for beginners but if you stick to it no matter what, hell yeah!

In my personal opinion, I would rather see you start off with something like slow sprinting and circuit training if you are obese or overweight with really slow stamina.

Weapon Training and Scuba Diving:

Weapons, if used correctly apply the use of the entire body to generate movements, it takes time but eventually you learn to balance with the weight of the weapon (most weapons are atleast 4-7 KGs) and move in different motions leading to a mild workout for the inner muscles too.

This workout when combined with a high protein diet leads to a pretty good reinforcement of lean muscle mass as well as sheds notable amount of fat.

Scuba diving or any water sport for that matter needs you to move your body in volumes of water which gives you an amazing cardio because the muscles are used pretty extensively while again leading to some tone.

If you notice, all of Angelina’s workouts have something to do with reinforcing tone while also burning fat.

Diet:

She followed the traditional model’s diet.

Six meals spaced out properly while being high on protein and low on carbs and low-med on fat.

Can you do her diet?

Yeah, definitely.

My Rating for Angelina Jolie’s workout: 9.5/10.

This is definitely the routine for guys and girls if you want to shed fat but it isn’t the workout if you want to put on bulk.


Madonna diet and workout

Madonna’s diet and workout explained.

Madonna

Madonna is older than most of your moms but she probably looks hotter than most of you too.

Now how does that happen, she is 50 and still smoking sexy.

The reason for this is that she doesn’t miss a single workout and keeps her diet in check no matter what, so what type of a diet is this and what kind of a workout?

Starting on with her workout:

Morning, prior to breakfast: Ashtanga Yoga

Prior to Lunch: Winsor Pilates.

Ashtanga Yoga session:

Yoga has many forms, one of the harder forms is Ashtanga Yoga; This form derives more on building strength, stamina and internal health rather than having meditative qualities.

Ashtanga Yoga can vaguely be compared to Circuit training workouts, the difference is notably that unlike a normal circuit training workout, Yoga can effectively slow down ageing because of its aspects being highly internal in nature, leading to longer tenure in the organs.

So how do you do Ashtanga Yoga?

I can explain poses over the internet but any form of yoga without a teacher is almost downright pointless. A lot goes into this, namely breathing techniques and maintaining flow.

Will any other form of Yoga maintain similar effects?

Not entirely but it will have its long term benefits.

Among other workouts, Madonna’s routine includes Pilates.

Hereon, I would like you to attend a Pilates class or purchase a book on Pilates workouts if you are interested.

Here I would like you to note that because Madonna is not lifting weights, she does not need recovery time and particularly any disadvantages on frequent stressing.

When Ashtanga Yoga works on the organs, joints, inner muscles and tendons primarily, Winsor Pilates focus more on bone structure, relaxation, posture, balance and exterior muscle toning.

This leads to a complete mild workout which ends up doing an adequate amount of fat burning, health preservation and relaxation at the same time.

Will it work for you?

Honestly, if you are beginner then I would say not likely. The reason being Madonna has a known history of lifting weights and intense cardio so she already had a fair bit of lean muscle mass to keep that metabolism going.

 

Pilates and Ashtanga Yoga are awesome for Maintenance but not particularly good for building up or shedding fat as the traditional creating a calorie deficit and working out are.

Madonna Diet:

Madonna follows a diet which is a combination of the old and the new, called the macrobiotic diet.

What constitutes the macrobiotic diet?

The Macrobiotic diet consists of eating whole foods, unprocessed and organic, like brown rice, whole grains, vegetables (you get the idea, right?)

The diet also includes fish but is almost devoid of spices and places a strict restriction on alcohol and nicotine.

Now will the macrobiotic diet work for you?

If you are ready to go for a very healthy fat loss in a long tenure, this is the best diet there is and especially when combined with yoga can certainly end up slowing aging effectively.
