People often make the wrong assumption that, if a celebrity also happens to be an athlete, then a healthy and toned body just comes with the territory. What we must never forget is that athletes too have to work out a lot and even diet to keep in shape because, for them, food excesses count in more ways than they do for us. Anna Kournikova, tennis champ, model and celebrity, knows that better than anyone else and this is precisely why today we’re going to have a look at her way of keeping fit.

For starters, we have to mention that Anna is no longer running in the professional circuit, which means that whatever muscular mass she might have had a few years ago when she was playing is now gone. But still, if you look at her, you know that hers is not a body that comes just like that, and that she has invested countless hours of sweating at the gym in it. Speaking of which, this is actually Anna’s secret – sweating – and at the same time her most powerful weapon.

Anna does a lot of sports and she often makes a habit out of combining exercises but what  never slips her mind is to choose exercises that make her sweat a lot. “I love the feeling of sweating. I’ve been exercising my whole life so I really love it,” she recently told “People” magazine. Anna admittedly works out for an entire hour or more every day: about 30 or so minutes of lifting weights and then another half an hour, but no more than 45 minutes, of cardio exercises.

Anna vouches that in order to get her body you don’t need too many restrictions either, but just a lot of discipline and enough motivation to keep it up. And we should probably all follow her lead because, believe it or not, Anna doesn’t even diet and she still has an amazing body. Of course, the key word here is moderation, she assures us. “I don’t like restricting certain groups or certain types of food. I think everything in moderation is really the best way to go. I try to eat as healthy as I can, which is not always possible. You know, I have my Burger King and McDonalds days, too,” she told “People” magazine.

With these in mind, it’s obvious that getting in such an enviable shape as Anna’s is not really that hard if we’re not lacking in the determination and will power department. All we have to do is take baby steps.
