I have been asked this question atleast two thousand times by now…
This is half knowledge.
Yes, weight training does damage your height
if done incorrectly
I recall this idiot who used to come to my gym used a jerking movement to forcibly lift a weight he couldn’t normally and lift it as his body shook like jelly.
I am sure if that guy did that in his teens or at anytime, HE WOULD APPEAR SHORTER
The reason being that when you do weights incorrectly, your spine will be damaged and could possibly bend down because your arms are lifting something they cannot and the pressure is directed to your spine.
The other being incorrect leg exercises damaging your knee caps.
Its actually simple to grow 2-3 inches of height if you are stretching correctly and if you work on strengthening your legs and your spine, causes your posture to appear much longer as the muscles take the pain the spine has of gravitational pressure.
So my point being:
Correct weight lifting does not restrict height but actually increases it.
If you stretch after lifting weights, I am sure your body will respond better to growth.
If any of the teenagers want to increase their height, please mention that, I have some ebooks which will help.
