15 Major Misconceptions of Fat Loss

Tue ,04/08/2009

a person thin does not necessarily have less fat

completely discarding fat doesn’t make you thin

  • *note: you need 20% fat in your diet to BURN FAT! and keep your body going*
  • lifting weights properly does not stunt growth
  • Masturbation doesn’t affect health in terms of bodybuilding or growth
  • eating proteins all day is stupidity
  • Chocolate to a small extent is good for you
  • being fit is to be able to do 40 pushups and not be a stick.
  • Lifting heavy weights will not make you the hulk, or atleast not immediately, lift something heavy once in a while
  • even teenagers may turn to acupuncture, massages, aroma therapy, etc.
  • running on the road burns more fat
  • Sauna belts are ineffective. how? well, they reduce an inch for maybe 2 hours and that too if you don’t drink something in the 2 hours, simply said, it dehydrates water from your belly making you leaner till you drink water again.
  • Fat is bad? no no, it helps… just keep in moderation and workout
  • yoga is for old men? hell no… its too hard for most of you to do it properly
  • Tai Chi is for old men? try doing it and see
  • smoking reduces weight? it reduceses appetite, muscle mass, libido, fertility, stamina, etc.
  • skipping is lame? try it with ankle weights.
  • Doing a 100 crunches doesnt get you a six pack, having a low Fat % does

Benefits of Acupuncture

Tue ,04/08/2009

Whats the use of acupuncture?

And how does it relate to being fit?

Well, both mentally and physically.

Acupuncture works on electric needles on particular pressure points and these aid weight loss by:

1.) improving digestion hence promoting metabolism

2.) decreasing depression hence promoting growth of muscles and burning fat

3.) chanelling Ki or Chi which boosts your energy leading to higher stamina and confidence which can be vital

4.) the currents if combined with Tai Chi afterwards reduce fat a lot

5.) promotes more limberness and endurance promoting growth of shapely muscles.

How does it do all that?

well, Acupuncture is like Tai Chi done with assistance in some way.

There are some pressure points around your stomachs which will be activated electrically and aid digestion.

There are some pressure points around your ear which relate to the stress the brain carries and the electric current soothes them avoiding depression and technically increasing metabolism.

There are some pressure points around your ears and feet which will boost fat burning

How I lost 40 KGs of fat

Tue ,04/08/2009

Routine I followed to lose 40 KGs of fat:

Heya, many people ask me how I got all that weight down, this is the routine:

However, the current routine I recommend can be found by clicking here, the current diet by clicking here

first few weeks (at 96 Kgs, 40 waist size):

accupuncture appointments at alternate days.

Diet control:

Reduction of Chappatis from 6 to 2. No more rice, lots of vegetables and fruits throughout the day.

Exercises:

Hatha Yoga, Pranayam, Basic Stretches.

The Doctor had recommended me to go for these in the morning but I twisted and turned every moment, like in the cab, while walking, trying to hang whenever I can.

At this point I used to get really hungry so I ate more raw vegetables.

4 or 6 weeks later:

87 Kgs.

Equipment: Gym Ball

Considerable difference, the face looks a bit slimmer.

Changes in workout: I run every day, do bodyweight exercises such as multiple half pushups, half crunches and mainly dumbells *just a single move where you lift the weight using in an arc from your hips to your chest.

Changes in diet: I start starving, tried detox once. water intake still pretty low, have a heavier breakfast but ultimately a smoother schedule.

This goes on for 2-3 months.

Changes in weight not much, the weight was then 82 Kgs in maybe 10 weeks.

But from looking fat I start looking bulkish, stronglike but a broad and not neccesarily bulging body. Waist size got down to 35 from 38

———————————————————————————————————

The huge line indicates me falling for someone.

the pretty lass: Lean guys are hot, jhonny Depp Owns.

The Firing

Changes in workout:

intense cardio, I make it a point to run till I am exhausted.

I bought a book on slimming where they said drinking more water is essential, timing meals can help, tai chi can help, martial arts can help.

I was always good in boxing and knew a fair deal about fighting so my next step is to surf the internet for martial art exercises, talk to some instructors.

Of course this was not as effective or painful as when personally taught but it definitely made a huge difference.

I also checked out gym ball exercises on the net and read that faster reps would prove more beneficial.

I also bought second hand health magazines (I got 20 of them for 100 Rupees, umm… 2.5$ for the Foreigner’s sake)

Now I apply every fucking trick there is.

Which included swiss ball abs, swiss ball leg raises, swiss ball seated dumbell raises.

I also bought a bullworker and did a lot of work on it.

I frequented the Gym I deserted and did heavy non stop cardio for over 30 mins on alternate days.

I told the instructor to switch me to free weights which I did of about 10-15 kgs to 3 sets of 12-14 reps.

I did a total of 200-300 punches a day, many kicks (high ones, I know they suck but what the hell)

I circled my arms, swung my hips whenever I could, and twice a week I climbed stairs till the top to bottom 4 times *scaringly exhausting*

Diet changes:

intake of carbs decreased greatly as I ate much more in beans, drank soy milk, worked out religiously but again forgot to take care of water intake.

Good results:

Weight goes down to 64kgs within 15 weeks, waist size now 31 from 35

The body looks completely average in size, everyone asks me question, my stomach is flat and not wide at all.

The body looks more attractive (maybe courtesy of Tai Chi Chaun?), way more improved stamina.

some nice tone too

Bad Results:

my mom often did not let me diet by secretly putting in sugar or fatty stuff or not making diet stuff when I was too exhausted to feed me fat against my will which I believe led to me having loose skin.

Loose skin

lack of balance

some strength loss

bad health maintenance.

errors: Less protein intake, diet not perfected, improper water intake, heavier weights were not used.

Leaning up:

New equipment: Medicine ball, resistance ball, kendo stick, ankle weights.

Nutrition bonus: Sharkoferrol, Whey.

Errors done: I just took one scoop of Whey and one of Sharkoferrol which was nowhere close to the required protein %, I took whey only on workout days this resulted in some muscle loss if not much. I recall my arm size was two inches bigger earlier

Workout changes:

The Workout was purely explosive now with 2 sets of 30 pushups (done slowly or quickly on alternate days) . Suryanamaskars (Hindu pushups), Wallwalking, ankle weight kicks (50 or more), countless full punches, 100 kendo strikes, abdominal workouts with a medicine ball.

Trekking without rest twice a week.

Diet Changes: None.

Results:

within 2 months, weight goes down to 54 Kgs (123 pounds?), I have four packs to flaunt off, much more toned body, ability to exert power increases greatly, much higher level of energy.

Bad Results:

Skin gets looser, body colour darkens, face appears seemingly weaker or lifeless to most.

———————————————————————————————————–

The above line is for me stopping weight loss and having a happy body, but start working on mending damaged skin and increasing height.

I pick a book of Hatha Yoga, check out Tai Chi Videos and go at it full swing.

I also start taking pills which tighten the skin and also apply creams and try aroma therapy for the skin.

The body gets much more tone because the skin hardens and the heavy morning stretches make my body more supple. Click on the height gain section in the categories menu to see the exercises used.

I increase water intake and just take care of health in general by breathing exercises and ease myself on the dieting.

Good results:

Body looks finer, limber.

Flexibility increases

skin looks way better

Height increases by 2 inches from 5.5 to 5.7

Bad results:

Fat% increases by 2

college starts so generally less time and too much to do.

Vineshway Era:

I got myself to 53 kgs and the new people I met saw me more along the lines of skinny or thin rather than lean or muscular.

I decide to increase some musclemass.

I start back on bodyweight exercises (more complicated ones), Dumbells, weighted abs.

I buy BSN NO EXPLODE, Syntha 6 and recently ON 100% Whey.

I try new stuff and keep on using tips from Men’s Health.

within 3 months, weight goes up to 59 KGs.

Current aim:

getting more tone, leaner muscle mass, increase height by 2 more inches, get oblique cuts and much more strength and stamina

Basics of getting a six pack.

Tue ,04/08/2009

In the previous post, I discussed what a six pack is, now I will discuss on stuff required to get the six pack.

1.) Fat burning throughout the day (High Metabolism)
2.) Minimal fat intake
3.) considerable muscle
4.) proper cardio

note: It is not neccesarily to apply all of the mentioned ideas below, but try as many as you can to increase the speed at which results will be visible.

If you would like a full blown routine, click here

Several ways around it, the more you apply the better.

Lifestyle changes:
a.) Drink atleast 3 litres of water a day.
b.) Consider Trying Yoga fat burner in the workouts category in the morning.
c.) Consider fat burning substances like Green tea, try hot water with lemon extract too, boosts metabolism quite a bit.
d.) tap your feet a lot throughout the day (stupid but effective)
e.) rub your thumbs with each other for 2 mins thrice a day (refloxology)
f.) Take as many as deep breaths as possible throughout the day, oxygen helps in burning fat and deep breaths increase metabolism
g.) Avoid smoking (damages oxygen flow), Avoid drinking (other than red wine once a week)
h.) Invest in massages if you can
i.) Make sure your gym has a sauna which you can frequent twice a week.

Diet changes:
a.) Eat at intervals of 150-180 minutes.
b.) Make sure you dont mix carbohydrates and protein.
c.) The food you eat should not have oil, butter, cheese, ghee, sugar, margarine.
d.) Avoid Plain carbs as in White bread, pasta, rice, potatoes.
e.) DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST
f.) Do not eat 150 minutes prior to going to bed.
g.) Make sure you are getting adequate protein. Required amount is 1.5 times your bodyweight (in Kilograms).
h.) Sources of natural protein include: fish, turkey, chicken, egg whites, tofu, chick peas, beans.
i.) make sure none of the above are fried, prefer boiled, roasted or toasted
j.) If you are vegeterian, Protein supplements is a good idea (Personal recommendation: ON 100% Whey)
k.) If your budget is flexible, A time released protein blend will help you lean up quicker.
l.) If you are above 18, with atleast 1 yr. of bodybuilding experience and with a good budget, lookout for NO Boosters (example: NO EXPLODE from BSN)
m.) Whenever possible, start your meal with a fruit.
n.) Raw vegetables are abundant in vitamins and can fill you up, you can use them as a meal.
o.) If you are eating out, avoid bread and eat more of the vegetables and start with a soup.
p.) If you starve, you are going to get fatter
q.) Eat slowly, till the food becomes liquid in your mouth
r.) sip in water between meals.
s.) if you are thin it doesn’t mean you can madly munch on carbs and fats.
t.) Start with a detox

Workout Changes:
a.) Make sure you are not working on just your abs, muscles burn fat and there are much larger muscle groups like lats, hams, etc.
b.) Make sure you do 20-25 mins of cardio AFTER the weight training.
c.) Warm up and cool down with stretches. Stretches result in finer muscle tone.
d.) Believe in variety, keep shocking your body to get quicker results.
e.) Don’t go slow, go at a medium-fast pace but KEEP YOUR FORM INTACT
f.) Make sure your cardio is kind of complicated with inclines, speeds as high as you can maintain
g.) Don’t use machines: My personal opinion
h.) Try to include equipment which forces balance such as a resistance ball, a medicine ball.
i.) Make sure you do 10 pushups daily and as often as you can with a very fast form.
j.) take proper rests but make emasure they dont exceed 40 seconds.
k.) try things like kicking and skipping at home whenever you get the chance.
l.) Keep pushing your limits.

We are all Motorbikes

Sun ,02/08/2009

I know, a very absurd entry for a fitness site.

But I think this entry is especially for people who believe they can’t pull off their fitness aims for reasons like genes, blah, blah and more blah.

Let me just give an example.

For starters, I would like to state I lost my precious Machismo 500 L

Now,

A friend of mine owns a Vintage Royal Enfield bike, manufactured back in 59. Awesome huh? This bike makes the meanest sound, gives the worst mileage you can think of, I can outrun it (Seriously, I won against the bike in a 200m sprint) but THIS BIKE RULES because it has ITS IDENTITY.

Another friend of mine owns a Hero Honda Karizma, he is an asshole. That aside, The Karizma is a great bike too, it rockets! Its like the fastest bike in India (save RD350 and modded RX 135 and Roadking).

Now Karizma boy tells the Enfield dude ‘your bike sucks, its 350cc still can’t catch up to mine, it sucks, its slow as hell, looks like a heap!’

Now I love Enfields but after riding the vintage version I too somewhat agree that Enfields are more like a workout rather than a ride.

The Enfield dude got pissed, he decided to make his bike way better in every aspect possible.

He started by putting a K n N filter, now for those here who don’t know about bike tuning, a proper bike tuning requires you to be patient with the bike, let it get used to one mod after putting up another. (here I will compare the filter to the human digestion system, i.e timing your meals)

After which he put a RD 350 Carburetor (Joined a gym)

After which he started regularly polishing the bike (had a good bath with shampoos, conditioners, quality soaps, applied creams for scars and zits)

After this he put up new lighter, better gripping wheels (Started consulting from me :p)

After this, he put up a performance spark plug (Supplements)

After this, he fine tuned the engine to give better performance (Started with High Intensity workouts)

After this, he had an awesome aftermarket BSA piston installed (Started with inner health programs like yoga or tai chi)

Through the modification, he provided the best petrol speed 97 (High quality nutrition, no junk food)

After the modification, he molt something like 13k worth silver with metallic green paint to give the most dazzling effect, he put up a bright xenon headlight, a huge windshield. (Got a nice haircut, makeover, whatever it takes for him to feel good in his shoes)

AND VOILA, THE ENFIELD BEATS THE KARIZMA EFFORTLESSLY (I no longer try to outrun it) though it took 14 months to get there.

Similarly, humans can be modded, they can get right where they want to if they believe they can and work towards it.

I think you noted that just how simple it is to completely turn the tables whichever way you like.

And let me tell you one thing, the bike even when it wasn’t modded, WASN’T BAD, IT WAS A PROUD BIKE WHICH WENT FOR 2 LAKH RS. But its just that the owner believed that the bike should be better and worked hard to make it.

If you feel you deserve better than what you are, remember it is very simple! Your body is a motorbike, all you need is to be modded!

Why do you workout?

Sun ,02/08/2009

Why do you workout?

People who workout hate what they really are? Fuck you.

This is what a fat loser was telling in a seminar of brain power something.

Now almost everyone who is reading this works out to a smaller or bigger extent. Do you guys hate yourself?

Tell me yourself, post your comments on why you workout, is it to love yourself?

I mean, tell me if he is right or wrong, are your bodies all that is to you?

My two cents:

I workout like a maniac, I deadlift 160 KGs while being 60 KGs. I never had a morning without stretching, I do pull-ups in the trains, run instead of taking a rickshaw, never eat anything unhealthy (surprisingly I don’t even like the taste of sugary, oily food).

Now let me tell you this, I workout because I love myself, I believe I deserve better! I don’t workout thinking if I workout I’ll get guys to think I am cool or to bang chicks.

It’s just that I visualize myself with a high amount of strength and a ripped body. That’s all.

I believe those who love themselves gradually become what they idolize.

It took me say 15 months to lose 50 KGs of fat, that’s maintaining a good enough average of approx 7 pounds of fat a month.

Now when I was as big as 96 KGs, I visualized myself to look like Bruce Lee and I never, not for a single instance believed I couldn’t pull it off, does that mean I hated myself? Naah, it means I am a human being who believed he deserved to be just what he wanted to be and GOT THERE.

So I’ll return this one inversely, all of you skinny bastards and tub of lards who don’t workout, either you are incredibly self assured and don’t mind seeing the sad faces of the chicks who see you without clothes OR you hate yourself because you believe you don’t deserve better.

Cheerios.

Dealing with Obesity

Sun ,02/08/2009

It would be stupid for me to expect people with a fat% above 30 and not in a very fit condition to do most of the things that I generally prescribe here or are listed in the workouts category.

for starters I want you to know that gimmicks don’t work, you’ll have to maintain a healthy lifestyle to death.

I also personally recommend this routine

Here, in this section I will keep posting on the needed changes to a person’s diet, recommended exercises and such to progressively alter your bodyweight and measurements with difficulty and pressure changing with progress made and time taken.

I would like the obese people here to submit queries, in which they clearly mention they are obese for immediate attention.

I will make up a photolog to the exercises suitable for obese people within a month or so.

Keep the hopes and keep working hard :D

britney spears and fat loss:

Did Britney Spears lose fat using clenbuterol and can you do it too?

Well, I really have no clue if she used clenbuterol or not, but if you see the above image, she is not really all that slim, she is at 14-15% bodyfat I think.

Achieving 14-15% bodyfat is not THAT difficult at all, you can get there using a high protein low carb diet, regular workouts *with free weights AND cardio*, some changes in lifestyle, Send a query if you want me to prepare your chart for burning fat.

So why do people use clen? Its probably to get from like 10% or 8% fat to 4-5% bodyfat which is WAY lower than what britney is at.

So to sum it up, how do you get a body like britney spears?

Rule 1:

* No Carbs after sunset
* Eat six light meals a day to keep your metabolism going
* Stretch out for 15 minutes and run for 10 every morning, follow it immediatly by breakfast
* Drink enough water through the water (2-3 litres)
* Rest for 8 hours
* Invest in good proteins such as turkey, chicken breast, fish, egg whites

Rule 2:

* Workout with light weights
* do a 10 minute cardio session after the light weight workout
* have a protein shake (or egg whites) after the workout
* AVOID MACHINES COMPLETELY
* Move around as much as you can in the home too
* Check out yoga for your rest days.

Its that simple to outdo Britney Spears

Tightening Loose Skin

Sun ,02/08/2009

tightenin loose skin:

Let me guess… you lost a lot of weight, now skin is hanging out?

your face is looking chubby when its not?

People often cruelly suggest surgery but I believe there are other ways around battling loose skin, the only problem is these are more long term.

I would like to suggest surgery for people who have lost more than 60kgs of weight in a short amount of time or lost weight using liposuction.

Nutrition:

What exactly is skin nutrition? I believe a very rich intake of vitamins and minerals, much of these are attained by fruits and vegetables. Multivitamin tabs also help a lot in this cause.

Almonds and Walnuts also end up providing quality good fats for the recovery of the skin.

Exercise:

I want you to especially work your body with heavy weights when you are trying to get rid of loose skin, the reason is that the skin will find is easier to tighten towards the muscle mass which is replaced by the fat and the good nutrition will reinforce required fibers to tighten as much as possible.

Among other things, try out pranayama from yoga, giving the skin oxygen is very important.

Habits:

Frequenting the sauna does pretty good.

if you have loose skin, chubby face what you can certainly do is massage the face; start with clockwise-anticlockwise, use the bottom of the palm and the fingers alternatively.

Use a soap with Aloe extract

For tightening your face, try out facial exercises.

Be a wannabe

Sun ,02/08/2009

I came across a friend a few weeks back who had started gymming, changing attire and stuff. I was really proud for him.

I noted many guys called him a wannabe (of course his fake accent attributed to which)

Now I often think whats a wannabe? whats real? I mean, what you are currently is nothing other than the production of social conditioning with regard to the circumstance you have grown up and the enviornment, finance, cultural and other factors.

YOU MY FRIEND, ARE NOT ORIGINAL ANYWAY!

I mean if you don’t change fearing you’ll be a wannabe, you are nothing but the byproduct of circumstance.

I understand you may not want to change, OK. COOL.  But do not call someone making an effort to be something he wants to be a wannabe, ASSHOLE!

I will openly admit that from age 16-18 I was constantly called a wannabe, loser, faggot, etc etc.

But currently I am right where I want to be. I recall when I was 15, I was not too much into the system of martial arts taught, I decided to try things on my own, for 18 months I was whacked on almost a daily basis.

But I never stopped trying, Now the guys who could take me out when I was 17 can’t even think of laying a finger on me without getting seriously injured in the following second.

They had the same time I did, I mean they were also growing right :D :D but the point is YOU WILL DEFINITELY MAKE MISTAKES.

Which is the price you will pay for getting to the correct thing, infact… its not even a price, its a STEP! I mean sooner or later if you want to do something extravagant, tread on path others haven’t, you WILL make those initial errors, its an eventuality, all I can say is…

ACCEPT YOUR ERRORS AND YOUR DEFEATS VERY VERY PROUDLY AND KEEP GOING! ITS JUST LIKE ONE OF THOSE FAILED LIGHTBULBS THOMAS EDISON MADE BEFORE HE GOT TO THE REAL THING.

So BE A WANNABE!

currently you are at the safe side of being socially accepted, tame, blah blah… if you wanna be something else, you gotta be a wannabe :D . Its the best thing to be.
