Sub categorizing which...

Some martial arts primarily focus on conditioning, some on flexibility, some on strength.

However, my conclusion to the 'martial arts' body is goes something like a very elaborate aim:

Primary goal being flexibility, strength, stamina or whatever required as per the art.

For example TKD needs super flexibility, boxing needs heavy strength and stamina, Karate needs Endurance and strength, Kung Fu (some styles) conditioning and flexibility.

Very complicated...

HOO HAA!

So tell me one thing, Vinnie.

Does MA help boost fitness levels as gyms?

I mean, compare the two, and by gyms I mean free weights not the lame machinos!

Use common sense!!

Wat if we fought with Arnold???

Imagine the power and strength in bodies like Arnold's, Ronnie's, etc.

We would fly!!!

Bigger body and muscles = bigger power!!

no way a martial arts man can fight against a good bodybuilder!

MA does boost fitness levels, though as you pointed out a while back on MSN a video of karate guys being bashed on the street.

The thing is even in MA it is extremely important to maintain a diet, keep changing workouts, try different things, practice a lot.

I won't discuss techniques because you are asking about fitness.

Yes, in a long term the fitness is improved a lot if MA is done correctly.

Personally, I don't think TKD comes in that but Karate, Kung Fu, Kalari and Kickboxing surely boost fitness in a slower but more permanent way.

Welcome, Arnold fan.

Well, Arnold and Ronnie have impressive bodies but not compitable for fighting, awesome bodybuilders though.

Hey Terminator kid...

Let me ask you a simple question

Considering you are a tractor, your hit can kill

but you are so slow being a tractor, that something like a bike would hit you first considering your parts weigh so much.

True, one hit of yours is fatal but that hit will never come upon if it lacks flexibility, technique, etc.

bah, lot more to it than you think.
